What are Millennials looking for in a vacation?

✅Change Travel Dates without Fees

✅Knowing Pandemic protection measures Hotels, Airlines and Cruise Lines are taking

✅Not lowering Covid Vacation budget

✅Visual Surroundings

✅Seeing the World!

❌ Travel Deals

❌ Future Offers or value-added items

❌ Traveling Internationally during a Pandemic

Millennials are more interested in being able to change travel dates without a fee than they are in a “travel deal.”

Millennials are more interested in knowing what the hotel, airline or cruise line is doing to protect them during the pandemic than enticements like discounts, future special offers and value-added items.

Millennials would prefer to keep their Covid-19 vacation budget intact rather than lower it. This means they are looking for the same quality they’ve received on previous vacations at a similar price.

Finally, Millennials are interested in visual self-expression and enjoy creative scenes and scenery. The idea of seeing as much of the world as possible resonates with Millennials.

I am finally beginning to research some trips. Guess what? They are all Millennial customers and they are planning their honeymoons. Their parents are encouraging and advising them to implement their travel plan and begin the booking process. I’m averaging a nine month advance planning process with these customers and it allows us to effectively communicate, collaborate and make thoughtful decisions. Because Europe still has not opened up to the U.S. market, we are planning beach honeymoons closer to home.

Mexico and the Caribbean Islands are now welcoming American visitors and rules are modified weekly. It is getting a bit easier to travel now, except for the recent 14 day quarantine implemented by New York State that is being applied to those travelers returning from countries listed by the State Department as Level 2 or 3. The rise in Covid-19 cases in the Tri State area is the reason for enhanced quarantine procedures enacted by New York State. ASTA and its members (I am a member) have contacted our representatives in the Assembly and the NY State Senate to request a modification to this order. We feel that there is a reasonable work around that will be safe and protect travelers as well as the general public. *UPDATE* There has been a very recent modification and I explain it in my podcast. (See below).

Quarantine changes and travel initiatives are what I am discussing. Listen to my short format audio (not as long as a Podcast) to hear more.

Our intern, Rachel, has been helping to run our Facebook and Instagram this semester. Do you have pictures from past travels that you'd like to have featured on our social media? We would love to share them! Email pictures from your travels (they can be from anywhere!) to info@newpaltztravel.com, and be sure to include when and where the photo was taken. Below are some photos from the Slingerlands' Alaska trip in July of 2019.
